Science instruction in grades 6 through 8 is assessed by the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) administered in spring to eighth grade students. Resources to prepare for this assesment are online at the following web addresses.
High School Science
Science instruction at the high school level is measured by the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) at grades 10 and 11. Grade 11 is also called "Exit" because passing at this level is a graduation requirement in the four core academic areas (Mathematics, Social Studies, English Language Arts, and Science).
