Secondary GT ALPHA

Dear GT ALPHA Secondary Student,

If you are enrolled in a GT Studies, Mind Journeys, GT Leadership, or Independent Study Mentorship (ISM) course, then you may use the documents on this site to continue your studies.  The activities can be applied to the content you are currently studying in your GT class. Once school resumes, you are to bring your completed work to your ALPHA teacher so it can be assessed.

There are three types of documents on this site:

"How to Think Like a Disciplinarian" will remind you of the tasks and applications of each discipline/study: History, Sociology, Liguistics, Philosophy, Psychology, Anthropology, Geography, Political Science and Economics. You will be asked to adopt the role/perspective of one of these disciplinarians as you complete your work.

The "Student Background Pages" are resources to remind you of the Thinking Skills, Dimensions of Depth and Complexity, and Content Imperatives you will be asked to apply to your work. Use these pages as references as you complete your worksheet activities.

The "Student Worksheets" will guide you through the activities you need to complete.  The "Task Overview" handout will explain what you need to do. Please note that you are expected to collect materials about your topic in order to read and take notes every day. Use the remaining pages to record your work. You are encouraged to use more than one primary and/or secondary source. In addition, you are welcome to extend your learning by creating a product based on your study. Take your time and do a good job.
